Adventure Groups

Adventure Works Summer Groups are now open for enrollment! Costs per participant are based on a sliding scale. all youth regardless of ability to pay are welcome.

Elementary Group

Looking for a nature-based group filled with FUN, exploration, movement, games, art, stewardship, and connecting with peers? Check out our group for ages 6-10! 

Join us on Tuesdays from 9:00-11:00 am. Groups will begin the week of 6/14-7/27 (skipping the week of 7/4). 

Youth will have the opportunity to: 

  • Build pro-social skills 

  • Foster emotional regulation through sensory engagement

  • Increase self-esteem

  • Improve focus and attention

  • Connect with the outdoors and the benefits of nature

This group will be 100% outdoors and may include excursions off the Adventure Works property. Children will be required to wear weather appropriate clothing including close toed shoes. If not currently a client at AW, an initial assessment will be required prior to June 11, 2021. Limited to 10 participants. Fees will be assessed upon registration. 

Adventure Group

Summer time is the best time for an Adventure! Youth entering grades 6-9 are invited to join us June 16 to Aug 4 (8 group sessions) on Wednesdays from 9:00 AM-12:00 PM. 

Possible Outdoor/Adventure activities:

Firestarting & Firebuilding, Shelter building, Stream Crossing, Hiking, Slackline, Orienteering/Geocaching, Archery.

Group Goals: 
-improving competence and confidence in outdoor and adventure skills.
-practicing and improving teamwork, communication, and conflict resolution.
-improving problem-solving and decision making skills.
-increasing frustration tolerance and motivation.

Canoe Group

Let's hit the waters! This 4-day program will run from Monday July 26th to Thursday July 29th from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm each day. 

Youth entering 8th grade through age 17 are welcome. 

Our Canoe Group will focus on: 


  • developing and improving problem solving and decision making skills.

  • increasing frustration tolerance.

  • practicing and improving communication skills

  • practicing and improving self-awareness and interoception/holistic self-regulation
